One to Two Years
Early Development, cont
He hit all major gross motor milestones normally (rolling, sitting, pulling to stand, walking, etc)
Language development was advanced
- speaking in multi-word sentences at 18 mo.
He was never interested in fine motor tasks (puzzles, drawing)
Very engaging and social with strangers
Notes:
P. spoke early, with a large vocabulary by age 1. He was speaking in multiple word sentences by 18 months of age.
In retrospect, I realize that he had never been able to ‘share attention’ with me--he wouldn’t gaze to a place I pointed to. At the time, we attributed his lack of fine motor skills and clumsiness to his vision problems.
